During the week of October 4-7, R&H Construction installed the first piece of the Barbara Walker Crossing, connecting a portion of the bridge from the south abutment to the pier.

Work will continue throughout the week of October 7th, with the final pieces being set in place during the weekend of October 11-14.
Important Reminder: During the week of October 7th, West Burnside will be reduced temporarily to two lanes for approximately 500 feet at the installation site. From 7 p.m. on Friday, October 11th, to 4 a.m. on Monday, October 14th, West Burnside will be closed in both directions between NW Hermosa Boulevard and NW Barnes Road as the installation is completed. The Portland Parks Foundation will host a Grand Opening Celebration for the Barbara Walker Crossing on Sunday, October 27th. Festivities will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a parade and fun run. For more information about the event, visit barbarawalkercrossing.com.
