International Rose Test Garden

The International Rose Test Garden at Washington Park is owned and managed by Portland Parks & Recreation. The site is popular around the globe and is the oldest, continuously operated public rose test garden in the United States. The picturesque garden was established to serve as a testing ground for new rose varieties. Today, awash in fragrance, it is one of the top free attractions in the state of Oregon. Some 10,000 roses consisting of more than 610 different varieties, await each season. On clear days visitors enjoy spectacular views of downtown Portland, Mt. Hood and other Cascade Range volcanoes.
