Portland Japanese Garden

Proclaimed the “most beautiful and authentic Japanese garden in the world outside of Japan,” Portland Japanese Garden sits nestled in the hills of Portland’s iconic Washington Park. Overlooking the city and providing a tranquil, urban oasis, it encompasses 12 acres with eight separate garden styles, including an authentic Japanese Tea House, meandering streams, and a spectacular view of Mt. Hood.

Must See Highlights:
• The ever-changing vistas of the Strolling Pond Garden, including our koi pond, Heavenly Falls, and Zig-Zag bridge lined with Irises in late June.
• Sitting on the veranda at the Flat Garden, which was carefully designed to represent and highlight the distinctive beauty of all four seasons.
• Feel embraced by nature as you look up at the towering Douglas firs, delicate maples pruned to human scale, and the lush and vibrant moss that carpet the garden grounds.
Admission Details: Portland Japanese Garden is open 6 days a week, Wednesday – Monday from 10am-5pm. The Garden is closed on Tuesdays.
We have timed entry tickets every 30-minutes during public hours to help limit lines and capacity inside the Garden. Tickets can be purchased online up to 7 days in advance. Last admission can be purchased at 4:00pm. Prices: Adult ($18.95), Senior 65+ ($16.25), Student with ID ($15.25), Youth 6-17 ($13.50), Children 5 and under (Free), Members (Free)
