Join your community members and fellow plant enthusiasts for a few hours of playing in the dirt as we provide a little loving care to one of the 50 gardens run by Portland Community Gardens. Get some exercise out in the fresh air, learn a new plant fact or two and enjoy a well-earned sense of accomplishment as we work together as a group to spruce up one of the many beautiful gardens located throughout the city. Depending on which garden we're at, we may be cleaning up paths, weeding, mulching, removing invasive species, pruning, building beds, planting and more. (Green thumbs encouraged but not required.)Please dress for the weather, bring garden/work gloves if you have them, and wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty. It is also a good idea to bring a snack to keep you nourished, as well as a full water bottle (not all gardens have drinking water readily available on site).
